I’m beyond excited to share that I’ll be heading off to Reykjavik University for an exchange semester as part of a double degree program between the University of Camerino and Reykjavik University! It’s not just any exchange—I’ll be diving deep into the fascinating world where Artificial Intelligence (AI) meets Cybersecurity. This is a huge step for me, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!

What I’ll Be Studying

While in Reykjavik, I’ll be tackling some seriously cool courses that are right up my alley. Here’s a sneak peek at what I’ll be learning:

Machine Learning on Cybersecurity

This one’s all about using machine learning to beef up cybersecurity. I’ll be learning how to create models that can sniff out threats before they become a problem. Pretty neat, right?

Natural Language Processing (NLP)

NLP has so many applications, and in this course, I’ll focus on how it can help in cybersecurity—like detecting phishing attempts or analyzing sketchy texts. It’s going to be super interesting!

Software Project Management

Managing projects is key, especially when you’re dealing with complex AI and cybersecurity projects. This course will help me get those skills down pat.

Reverse Engineering in Malware Analysis

Ever wondered what makes malware tick? This course will dive into that, teaching me how to reverse engineer malware to figure out its behavior and how to counteract it.

The Big Picture: My Master’s Thesis

These courses aren’t just for fun—they’re the foundation for my master’s thesis. I’ll be focusing on how Large Language Models (LLMs) can be used to query and analyze data in cybersecurity. But that’s not all—I’m also digging into how these LLMs might be vulnerable to attacks, a hot topic that’s been making waves after Black Hat USA and DEFCON 2024.

What’s Next? Maybe an Internship!

I’m also on the lookout for an internship in companies that are leading the charge in AI and cybersecurity, like SentinelOne. Getting hands-on experience in the field would be the perfect way to put all this new knowledge to work and make a real impact.

Wrapping Up

I’m so pumped for this exchange semester at Reykjavik University as part of my double degree! The courses, the thesis, the potential internship—it all feels like a dream come true. I can’t wait to share more about this adventure with you all. Stay tuned for updates!
