Unicam Business Game: Our Third Place Victory!

At the recent Career Day, my team and I were awarded third place in the 2024 Unicam Sustainability Business Game. It was a great experience competing with students from all departments.

Our Project: NotAlone

Our project, “NotAlone: the app that saves lives,” was inspired by the alarming statistics and news about domestic violence and femicide. We aimed to create a discreet app that provides immediate support to those in danger without alerting the aggressor.

Key Features of NotAlone:

• Disguised Interface: Looks like a generic app with customizable name and icon.
• Emergency Swipe: Transforms into a life-saving tool with a simple swipe.
• Domestic Safety: Designed for environments where phone inspections are common.
• Personal Setup: Easy tutorial for setting up permissions (microphone, camera, contacts, location).
• Four Main Functions: Alarms, timer alerts, fake conversations, and a special “NotAlone” feature using an ESP-32 or other portable devices.
